Panic Disorder: An Extreme Case
First on the list is panic disorder. Despites its name, panic disorder isn’t exactly “panicking.” It’s not about worrying that a typhoon would blow off your roof or you might lose your job. That type of fright is relatively normal.
Panic disorder is when you feel an undying lingering feeling of doom that manifest mentally and physically with symptoms that can be too overwhelming.
General Anxiety Disorder: The Common Type
General Anxiety Disorder, also known as GAD, is the most widespread type of anxiety. GAD affects a large fraction of the world’s population.
GAD is often described as a steady state of both mental and physical apprehension, with or without a specific cause. Keep in mind that anxiety is nature’s design, and the occurrence of daily trepidation is normal. However, when that feeling dominates and emerge for no reason, you positively have general anxiety disorder.
Social Anxiety Disorder: A Crippling Fear
If you are always worried about being perceived negatively by others, or humiliated in the public, then you could be suffering from social phobia or social anxiety disorder. Social phobia can be termed as an extreme form of shyness. In severe cases, an anxiety sufferer can evade any mode of social contact. Stage fright or performance anxiety falls in this category.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: An Aftermath
PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can be a result of a series of traumatic events experienced during a person’s lifetime. Symptoms of the said condition include shunning away from situations that brings back the event, social withdrawal, and flashbacks or nightmares.
