3 Tips for a Healthier Life

At this time and age, the difference between living and living life to the fullest is solely dependent on a healthy body and a healthier outlook on life. The eternal question of “why do we live” have a single definite answer – and that is to “seizing the day, every day”. Or in French, Carpe diem.

In light of getting the best values in our everyday life, there are things that we should do to live life to the fullest. The people who are the happiest doesn’t necessarily are the richest, but they have the same three qualities which any person can assimilate to his very psyche.

Drop the vice.

Or not really. But don’t be a compulsive smoker or an alcoholic. Vices are the world’s escape to the harsh realities of the world (ring a bell, drugs?). The fact is, drinking wine at least once a week is very healthy, as it is rich in antioxidants which can be utilized by the immune system to protect the body. Smoking however is a silent killer. Quit smoking all at once when you haven’t started the vice yet.

Eat healthy.

But don’t be too uptight about it. Eating is one of the greatest joys in the world. A love affair for food can be a two-edge sword, one good and the other side, bad. Eating healthy foods most of the time is a big determinant of the condition of our body every day, because they are the source of everything that our body needs. However, when you have a special liking to sweet treats and convulsively eats them every day, chances are, you are silently destroying your inner balance. Most studies have confirmed that a healthy gut results to a happier outlook in life and the abundance of vitamins and minerals in the body prevents depression.

Have good friends.

As the adage goes, “Do not surround yourself with fence, but rather with friends.” The presence of good friends around means a good time, and the crazier your friends can become, the better. We are only given one life and one chance of living it, and every day should be a testament of the hubris of youth that we once have.
